Nor me, but these women are about! As long as they keep their "standing" in life (ie the wife of someone very important) and the money keeps rolling in, they are prepared to put up with all manner of things, all sorts of indiscretions. Look at Mrs Ryan Gibbs, whilst her husband has been having it away with his SIL for years, along with some plastic celebrity, she's prepared to stand by him. She could divorce him and walk with millions, but she would be a complete nobody. She enjoys a great social life as Mrs Ryan Gibbs, without him she would be a rich unknown. She's mad, but she's not alone.

As someone once said (and it was a woman). "If there were no bad women, there would be no bad men."
It may be that his wife feels that their relationship is worth forgiving/tolerating a couple of slips, or maybe she has had a couple on a quid pro quo basis. Or as you say, hers is a hard financial decision based on the fact that she likes her position in society far too much to walk away over a lying maid.
I'm amused that Jacky is disgusted at the maid's past being dug up, but is more than happy that his is being dug up.
A lot of women suffer from this one way sensitivity.

I think the earlier comments regarding not being "someone" if they should split may be right, but, who is the woman anyway. Most people know of Cheryl Cole because she was known before her marriage.
this "I will put up with anything for the kids" attitude, hiding in a closet when it all comes out in the big nasty red tops is so unlike these women would be if they were the ordinary women in the street, shopping at Asda. They would ditch him immediately, although as some of these overpaid prima dona's have gone well past the "3 strikes and your out" stage I think they must have something most men havent got - money !!

There have been many attempts over the years to identify possible criminals merely by their appearance, all of which failed, but certain characteristics nevertheless strike fear into the hearts of ordinary mortals.
If Strauss-Kahn, Ryan Giggs and Rooney applied for the position of bell ringer of Notre Dame in the next horror film, they would all stand a fair chance of winning the part. We all have a fear of people whose eyes are set too close together, or who have no necks.
Rooney and Giggs score goals because defenders freeze when they charge, and goalkeepers turn to jelly even when faced with easy shots. Strauss-Kahn looks a fearsome individual and as such could have terrified the Guinean maid when he charged at her, with his close-set eyes and no neck.
If further proof is required, what about Mike Tyson? Our not so brave Frank Bruno laid down on the canvas before the fearsome monster even struck a blow.

DSK appears to have a reputation with anyone, male or female, having got where he is (or now was) by bullying everyone. its only with females it became physical - unless the boys aren't telling...

but then he is French.
Frank Bruno was born Mr Nice Guy, just he was successful in the training stakes and was in a position to fill a gap, but never ever had the "killer" attitude to hold the title for long.

Rooney and Giggs score goals because thats what they're good at, sometimes anyway.
If keepers don't freeze in the pressure cooker atmosphere of fifty thousand hostile crowds plus excessive media attention followed by detailed analysis, I doubt they'd do so for Rooney and Giggs and in any event they likely have much more imposing and threatening characters bearing right down on them on a fairly regular basis.
As for Strauss Kahn being a fearsome individual who charged at her with his close set eyes and no neck,.....
Firstly there is no reliable evidence to support the fact that he even charged at her at all.
Secondly I would be surprised looking at his physique and mannerisms if he was dumb enough to use brute strength and terror rather than brains in the first instance, thats even assuming that something did occur.
Thirdly having had her background "dug out", I would be most surprised if she hadn't already come across quite a few much more imposing, threatening and fearsome characters than Strauss in her time and in much more hostile environments also.

Somehow I think you are delving into the realms of fantasy somewhat here.

I was in a giant Malaysian Wok today, the size of two football fields and with about 100 customers. I enjoy people watching and had ample opportunity as people scurried about between their tables and the gigantic piles of prepared and unprepared food on display, with a line of Asians ready to cook for you with their flaming woks.
Bearing in mind my interest in people's appearances and their actions, I wasn't disappointed. A fierce looking and extremely fat and tattooed Brit was filling his plates with mountains of food and when he returned to his table, smaller people respectfully made way for the giant.
A similarly built Spanish guy, minus the tattoos, got similar respect. So did a loud and aggressive looking Spanish lady. Some polite looking Germans at the next table to ours looked on with disgust.
We ate as much as we could and my wife was sick when we got home. I felt a bit dicky myself and blame the giant prawns which only spent a few seconds in the flaming wok. The chocolate cakes, giant portion of chocolate ice cream, fresh strawberries and cream may not be innocent either.

I agree about the realms of fantasy, but what would life be without them?

Sounds like quite a day.

I can't believe how much people eat in those places. I have to say that at the one we go to it is usually the Spanish you see with overflowing plates. Also, while we tend to pick politely at rice, sushi, lemon chicken and tender beef in oyster sauce, they tend to eat huge amounts of what they usually eat - fish, prawns, crabs and the like, and with chips - rather than anything remotely oriental.

Our animal instincts are never far away, and in a Wok restaurant, we are again lions in the Serengeti feasting on Wildebeest until we can eat no more.
While we were still in the caves, any available woman would be chased, clubbed and raped. It's against the law now, but it still happens; the Red Army on entering Germany in 1945 raped every woman and child they came across, and it wasn't all that many years ago.
It's happening right now in the war-torn Congo, as we speak.
It's despicable, and maybe I've now convinced myself that that court in Manhattan was right to send DSK to Riker's Island in an orange jumpsuit, the dirty old man's semen did find its way on to the African maid's knickers after all.
And it took six minutes from start to finish. That nasty old man must have been on something.

As to cave man days. There is absolutely no evidence as to how we interacted. Looking at hunter gatherer groups today or in the recent past that seem to live in the same manner as did our more primitive ancestors, we don't see any evidence that they lived as you say.

As I understand, he doesn't deny that there was a sexual encounter. The question lies as to whether it was consensual or not.

Also the fact that in hunter gatherers we observe today, the women bring in a huge base of nutrition thru their efforts. It's the men thru taking high risks thru hunting that bring home the luxury items, ie meat. (and thus leather, sinew and so on.)
