Well, given the phone call she made to her boyfriend, the fact that she kept changing her story, and lied to prosecutors, I do think that in this story, the US justice got it right.
I'd like to see the bitch go down for perjury. Women who cry rape falsly do no-one any good.
Did you read the story about the ex wife who groomed her daughter to falsly say her father was a paedophile, and had abused her?
Completely disgusting.

If I had been raped by that no neck slime bag I would probably have said the same to my bloke...that I was going to take him for every pound I could. Doesn't mean to say he didn't do it. So she lied about being gang raped to get asylum, they all do or they don't get permission to stay, different matter. Though I never doubted the outcome. Hope the civil case goes better for her. You really could see the difference between the 2 Lawyers...spot the slick well paid guy and the legal aid one

Both
Plus I would have wanted to see him discredited. We shall never know the truth but whatever the outcome is always the same. Rich and powerful guy and a poor black woman...no contest. If he had raped/assulted me it wouldn't be extorting money.

Plus, do you ever seen those Judge Judy courtroom shows? There's a certain kind of smirk you see on people's faces in those programmes, and as yet I have never seen any of them who smirked like that be anything other than guilty.
She had exactly that smirk. Her Lawyer made the statement that this was exactly what you said. Rich white guy versus poor black girl.
All I know is that if you are honest and innocent, you don't have to keep changing your story, and you know that the truth will do the business.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking that just because she is a woman she must be innocent.
Or is the rule that instead of being innocent until being proved guilty, a man accused of rape is guilty until being found guilty?

Did you notice his smirk as he entered court. I think his highly paid Lawyers and diplomatic circles did the trick. He still has the rape charge in France to answer too, although I am sure that will be "sorted" too. I also don't understand why his wife should be smirking after he admitted to consensual sex and a few encounters the day before!

You know, I've seen a few rape victims talk on TV, and actually, all too often, the last thing they want is their face shown. They come across as sad, damaged, angry, but never before have I seen one that stands in the full spotlight of publicity, smirking.
I am reminded of the joke in which a nun comes in to the Mother Superior's office. "Mother Superior, I've been raped."
"Well, first thing go to the kitchen and suck half a lemon."
"Will that stop me geting pregnant?"
"No, but it will at least take that smirk off your face."
Remember Dick that there is a particular type of woman, for whom a man is always guilty. For women like this it will not matter if the guy is shown to be innocent, and the woman confesses to having lied about everything.
The man will still be guilty as hell.
There is no arguing with anyone like this.

When two unpleasant people collide in a blaze of publicity, especially in a frantic place like New York, truth is bound to take a back seat.
I objected to an unconvicted man of some standing being forced to wear an orange jump suit on the notorious Riker's Island because he was French; and I objected to a woman who had consistently lied being treated as an honest witness, and then an army of lawyers came along and obscured the issue further.
Can you draw any kind of sensible conclusion from a case like this? Something like Money Talks?
I agree with Neil Diamond. It does talk - for both of those unpleasant people.

Nor me, but these women are about! As long as they keep their "standing" in life (ie the wife of someone very important) and the money keeps rolling in, they are prepared to put up with all manner of things, all sorts of indiscretions. Look at Mrs Ryan Gibbs, whilst her husband has been having it away with his SIL for years, along with some plastic celebrity, she's prepared to stand by him. She could divorce him and walk with millions, but she would be a complete nobody. She enjoys a great social life as Mrs Ryan Gibbs, without him she would be a rich unknown. She's mad, but she's not alone.

You must appreciate that this all comes as a bit of a shock to me, however I really must bow to your greater knowledge and vast experience in these matters.
I mean apart from repeatedly being made fully aware that women were right at all times, it seems that for all these years I have mistakenly been under the misapprehension that they were all as totally honest as the day is long and as pure as the fresh driven snow.
I shall now have to sit awhile and contemplate your fine words of wisdom, as it is slowly beginning to dawn on me that maybe after all I am not solely guilty for all the major and minor hiccups in my life and it could just remotely be possible that just a teeny weeny bit of the responsibility may well lie elsewhere.

It may be that his wife feels that their relationship is worth forgiving/tolerating a couple of slips, or maybe she has had a couple on a quid pro quo basis. Or as you say, hers is a hard financial decision based on the fact that she likes her position in society far too much to walk away over a lying maid.
I'm amused that Jacky is disgusted at the maid's past being dug up, but is more than happy that his is being dug up.
A lot of women suffer from this one way sensitivity.
