Re: NSW &Queensland - State of Fire Emergency declared

I'll second that.
We've had some torrential rain in NZ the last few days and I wish I could send that to Aussie.

Re: NSW &Queensland - State of Fire Emergency declared

Cheers for that duck. I know where my friends are in the Gong but not another one who lives north of Sydney. Hopefully we'll have news of Dreamy sometime today.

Re: Austerity - myth or reality?

I'm very late to this and seem to have missed all the fun. Can I tend the herb garden and be the chief taster of the champagne cellar? I have my own cloak, so I won't need a habit or whatever monks...

Re: Health care

I have mixed feelings over healthcare in NZ. Some practices here scare the living daylights out of me, potassium drips not going through a pump, lack of double-checking of controlled drugs being...

Re: How to send a text message from Oz mobile to UK mobile

Don't you just write your text, input the number to send to and press send? I send text messages to the UK at least once a week.

Re: Thanksgiving food advice

Quite right. We always had both at Christmas when I was growing up. After a stint at catering college, I upgraded the mash to Duchess potatoes. Sadly I've not had any success with them in NZ, none of...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2019 thread

Ah well, you win some, you lose some! Well done the Springboks. I'm just deliriously happy we beat the AB's. Well done to the Billinge lad Owen Farrell.

Re: First Impressioins

Nigh on a month on and just wondered how the OP is getting on. Hope that you're feeling a little more settled now. It does take a while, at least it's starting to get a bit warmer now.

Re: Partnership visa headache !!

Sorry I should've said that all our examinations taken were in the English language. We didn't provide any proof of that, though we do have it. I left school in 1983 after sitting 'A' levels poorly!!...

Re: Partnership visa headache !!

We just stated on our application that we were born and educated in England. I think that we added that all examinations taken from 'O' levels through to degree level were in English. It's quite a...

Re: UK election

I haven't voted in a UK election in the nigh on 13 years we have lived here, mainly because I've had other stuff on my mind. Given how hard women struggled to get the vote, I believe it is imperative...

Taupo is a lovely place for a stop-over. Take a look at Huka Falls, beautiful location. We've done the Huka Jet if you like a bit of adventure, nice to get views from below the falls. The waterfall...
