I lived on St Kilda Rd when I was in Melbourne and that seems to tick the boxes, a short tram journey to the CBD and St Kilda and walk-able to the cafes of Prahran.

I had to go to Ipoh for a course a couple of weeks ago, found the Healy Mac's for a few beers and a good meal. Other than that I found it pretty quiet.

Thanks Gavin, I will give all that a try. I thought it was just the one channel but didn't realise about channels sharing the satelite transponder. I have also not spoken to any neighbours yet so...
