Re: PPI claim - worth the effort?

We carried out the search ourselves. Wasn't too taxing just had to look things out and research the rest. Received thousands back.

This is also a good guide - you can find free PPI reclaiming...

Re: Best way to transfer money from house sale to UK bank account

Transferwise +1 for me. I use them fortnightly. Haven't ever sent hundreds (or even tens) of thousands. The highest I've sent was about $5000. I agree with Helen1964 maybe splitting might give you...

Re: Living in London - cost of living

Ah that's a completely different kettle of fish then! I'm sure you'll be fine with your savings plus earning not long after you land.

Plan some nice trips across to Europe, up to the Scottish...

Re: Living in London - cost of living

How cool!

What sort of savings do you have? Clothes, travel and entertainment can be expensive in London. There's so much going on and I'm sure you'll most likely be wanting to make the most of...

Re: Australia tourist visa with criminal record

No advice about your visa, however just wanted to say (without sounding patronising as it's not intended) well done on turning your life around and being involved in such an important job in society....

Re: Playing ping-pong

My thoughts pretty much. I love 'things' about different cities / States but couldn't say I was a cheerleader for anywhere as a whole. I really enjoyed living in Perth for many reasons as I had put...

Re: Playing ping-pong

boom_meringue wish you all the best for your move. I still like Perth and would definitely live there again if we were staying in Australia. I still love to the things I mentioned and never felt...

Re: Validity of passport whilst transiting

It is a lovely place. We had four nights there on the way over in 2017 (and have visited before) but after getting over jet-lag with a very young child we didn't see too much! Was lovely to just...

Re: Validity of passport whilst transiting

Very good point Dorothy. We're going to renew before expiry in the next few months.

Re: Validity of passport whilst transiting

Completely agree! It's a lovely airport. Where we fly through will be dictated by points really, so not sure at this stage.

Re: Validity of passport whilst transiting

Thanks BIP. We don't have an itinerary as of yet, thus was checking "through any airport in the world?". Bit naive of me to think there would be a large brushstroke application to all countries :-)

Re: Playing ping-pong

It is just down to preference. I didn't feel isolated in Perth and others do. It purely depends on what you feel isolated from, thus I genuinely asked the question 'isolated from what'. I personally...

Re: Validity of passport whilst transiting

Thanks my friend. It would be an Asian country or Dubai airport only to transition through (not going near the States!).

When you say the only ones you know for 100% sure are Singapore and Dubai -...

Validity of passport whilst transiting

Does anyone know if it matters how long you have left on a UK passport when transiting to a connecting flight through any airport in the world?

I know many countries state you must have six months...

Re: 4 Years and Still Struggling

All well and good thinking of change however, nothing quite focusses the mind quite like actually having to make a decision on a real ‘live’ option!

It’s great to have been given the choice...

Re: The Plan

An update for me. I have a job interview! Don't want to get too excited however I have literally applied for hundreds and hundreds of jobs. Jobs I can do (and can provide proof of experience) but...

Re: The Plan

Thanks pendledreams5 you're welcome. It felt quite cathartic to write it all down and at the very least it's probably an egotistical timeline for me to look back on and add to along the way.

Good...

Re: Playing ping-pong

Sorry I've just got to pick up on this, Perth is one of the most isolated Capital cities, not 'cities'. There is a difference :-)
I lived in Perth, I didn't feel isolated. Isolated from what anyway?

Re: Where to live in Queensland nr Brisbane

There are loads of lovely suburbs to choose from. Not near tons of kids?! That's a hard one. Be prepared to see children here everywhere - it is a capital city after all with fantastic family...
