Currently 21.3c in Brisbane at 9:00pm and expected to be over 30c this weekend, bring back spring, I am still enjoying it.

Brisbane and the Gold Coast is a big area, so I would be more concerned with getting a place to work then finding an area where the schools are good.

Someone has got it in one, Qantas will still fly to London twice daily, 1 flight from Sydney and one from Melbourne, but if you want to go to any other place in the UK or Europe Emirates offers a lot...

I live in Brisbane but for someone coming from Cumbria I would look at Melbourne first. Melbourne is more of a football(soccer) made place compared to Brisbane. You will still get a tan in Melbourne...

Telstra in Australia on the IPhone has better coverage, Optus can be cheaper but the coverage isn't so good. I wouldn't be buying the iphone without a data plan as it can get rather expensive.
