Singapore - Frankfurt cancelled...reasonable chance QF will give up flying to London fairly soon I'd say.

So it likely means anyone flying from anywhere other than MEL or SYD will travel on either all EK flights or a mix of QF/EK. I know a certain witch who won't like that!

What was wrong with BA? I avoid all western airlines because the customer service is so bad. My preference is Singapore, so I'm asking because I haven't flown BA since 1996.

I dont have a problem with BA. I have flown in some old stock with BA - but I've also flown in new stuff. Just the same as Qantas....
BA in flight entertainment may not be quite so varied as QFs but its perfectly acceptable (and if you're doing a QF/BA route - its nice to have both so you get the MOST variety all together).
Not sure how this EK merge thing will work out, but I'll stay open minded until more details are known. As long as I can redeem QFF points for at least part of the journey I should be happy. If it all goes tits up then I'll switch to a different point earning credit card and never fly QF again.
I would miss BA though - particularly if the new deal means I cant use them for european short haul stuff using QFF points!

BA have no A380's and the 747 thing is just noisy, and uncomfortable in 2012
