What level of security are transiting pax subjected to? I haven't been to US post 9/11 and from what I have read I don't think I want to. .

Transit pax are photographed & finger printed. I'm not sure what else...not done it in a long time.

Transit passengers who are continuing onward on the same flight / plane are often held in transit areas with no typical facilties (shops etc)...at LAX some of these don't even have toilets and you aren't allowed to leave!

.... and if you've ever been arrested (yes just arrested) you can forget the transit. If they find out they'll send you back to where you came from.

That is quite extraordinary.

And that is shameful. I have no interest in revisiting the US while it treats innocent people like this, but I had no idea a simple transit required personal information going on databases. They seem to have lost sight of what a human being is, I think.

Singapore remains the number one - at least you are treated with respect at Changi and not denied the toilet.

Wow... I'm really pleased I asked that LA quesiton actually....for more than one reason...

So getting chucked out of Selhurst with a vengance by the OB back in the 70's stops me getting through America is that correct ?

So you were arrested for football hooliganism?

Doesn't stop you transiting but you will not be eligible for a visa waiver - therefore you need to apply for a visa in advance.

Err yes... you could put it like that.... which I was trying to avoid. I'm actually sitting here with a red face.

What I want to know is, can we combine our QFF and our Skywards points? And will Qantas decide to introduce a time limit on points like EK have?

I doubt you'll be able to combine them...no such arrangement exists with the current BA/QF JV.

I am looking forward to being able to burn QF points on EK - I suspect availability will be dramatically better!
