I don't know about the age thing, but definitely agree on the going out for the hell of it. I'm near-ish LA (monrovia to be exact).

Don't worry, i'm sure you'll be fine. The test is not very long & much much easier than the UK. Oh but be sure to learn your hand signals, i thought my mate was joking but looked them up just incase...
