Re: Advice on some suburbs please - Melbourne & Brisbane

Cleveland is very nice, lived there for a year. At the end of the train line takes an hour to Roma St, Gold Coast just over an hour away, decent shooing and marina

Re: Renting UK House, Not Selling...Can Anyone Help??

Be careful, unfrotunately renting out a property with a residential mortgage can be construed as fraud and there are other legal implications!

Re: Whinging Pom House seller

We went out with around this amount in '95 and it did start to run down pretty quickly once you start to buy things and there's no income coming in.

Re: Main reason for moving back?

Far away (only 24 hours doesn’t seem a lot but when combined with jet lag and cost it’s more than you anticipate).
Climate can be very harsh, heat can be overbearing, both dry heat (Adelaide) and...

Re: $5000 for dental work

Re: Told a couple of people I was going home. (OH MY GOD)

I don't have any problems within me, none that I would consider life threatening or serious. I didn't leave the UK to 'escape' from anything, but did leave Aus to. You have to be true to yourself...

Re: Am I going Mad!!!

If your OH doesn't object to returning to the UK then this is what you should follow. We lived in Aus for nearly 7 years before we came back. These are my personal views and probably don't fit in...

Re: Heading Home

We lived in aus for 7 years in Adelaide, Melbourne and finally Brisbane, so no one can say we didn't give it a good go. At the end of the day we always felt like outsiders, our savings had dwindled...

Re: Told a couple of people I was going home. (OH MY GOD)

I’m quite new on this site but what bugs me most is those people who haven’t lived there but have been on several holidays who then criticise those who have gone through the experience of emigrating...

Re: In Aus for 6 years now thinking of going home..

A lot of Aussies would give their eye teeth to get over to the UK, so close to Europe. Where do you go to in Aus, Bali, their equivalent of Benidorm. The heat, it's so bloomin hot you can't...
