Hi Gems,
Thanks for that. Kar-Kier in post No5 has said that people who looked at that list before they arrived were shocked as those amounts of allowances were not payable in some cases.

I think i read somewhere that this payment was linked into the subsidised housing payment as in this is how much they subsidise your...

Are there any other teachers who are going out to WA in July on the 457 scheme?

I have heard that there were about fifity of us due to go out but I only actually know of three including myself.

My question is this. If we apply for tourist visas whilst awaiting the 457 to be issued, would they allow us in with the one way flights that we have booked?

took 2 weeks for mine. The christmas period will slow it down a bit though.

Yes we are on our way out.

Fly on the 10th and booked through ebookers.

I didn't realise that flights home would be that expensive, will have to make sure that we start saving when we arrive as...

Well I think I did alright today with 3 adults and 2 kids London to Perth in June 09 £1700 all in with Cathay Pacific :D
