Re: Spirit Airlines

MeanSpirit Airlines. 2nd worst (after Allegiant) of the budget airlines. Avoid, unless delays, obnoxious staff and being treated like farm animals is your thing.

Re: car rental

I hired a car for 7 days in the UK albeit from Gatwick - around this time last year. I can't imagine picking up/returning to LHR would make a lot of difference.
I used www.rentalcars.com to book it...

Re: VWP and a nasty DUI conviction

Yes - first DUI - (I believe this is true) though he was excessively over the limit, to the point they were surprised he survived the alcohol poisoning. My understanding was that he was nearly 6...

VWP and a nasty DUI conviction

I have a friend in the UK, who hopes to visit the US for a week, next March. Despite being a super-nice guy, he's also a bit of a nutcase. Earlier this year he was convicted of drink/drive. My...

Re: Relocation package query

Them's expensive air mattresses.

I moved to the south eastern US in 2001 and similarly, I kind of engineered my move, which compromised my negotiating position to a degree. That said, my employer...

Re: H-4 Visa-Work and UK/US Tax

For the employee/beneficiary - maybe. For the employer/petitioner - not so much. I can think of numerous reasons why the employer would want to maximize the time that the employee is unable to cut...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Except that this is an F-Body Firebird convertible that someone has decided to call a "Sunbird".

Re: Let's talk about cars

I think this really illustrates the subjectivity around what is good/not good about cars - there is a quite significant emotional component for people who are 'into' cars.
I would argue that...

Re: Experiences at the Naturilsation Ceremony - Los Angeles

It's been a couple of years since I attended mine, but my wife finally got summoned to hers last week and it ran pretty much the exact same course as mine, other than the somewhat naff presidential...

Re: N400 Ceremony - Crazy long delay...

So, finally we have a result. It took my immigration attorney two in-person verbal punch-ups with our local field office - during the first, the delay was stated to being down to the fact that the...

Re: L1-B Blanket Visa with no degree

L-1B (blanket, or otherwise) requires neither a degree nor 12 years of equivalent experience. That requirement is for H-1B.
You don't "go for" any employment based visa - your petitioning employer...

Pompous - undoubtedly, arrogant - possibly. But a muffin? That's crossing the line.

Re: Trucks... Who has what?

Being pedantic (and assuming you are not referring to Duramax) the GM Vortec engine is a detuned LS small block.

As an aside and fully aligned with the ASPCA - don't ignore the old dogs, they need...

Re: Business through E2

I suspect that many of the respondents to this (and that includes me) are not qualified to assess the viability of your business concept. Picking holes in a commercial proposition, having no relevant...

Re: Let's talk about cars

I don't think it's all that difficult to believe. Ford has made a long-term commitment to smaller displacement Ecoboost drivetrain.

I believe that further development of the quad cam 'Coyote' V8...

This is my 1992 F150 Flareside. I bought it in a very original, but very shabby state from a neighbor for the princely sum of $2750. It is a 4x4 XL Lariat with a 5.0 Windsor EFi V8....

Re: N400 Ceremony - Crazy long delay...

We sent the original plea for help to my Congress(wo)man, Mrs Val Demmings' office.

Re: Move to US to develop growing business

For what it's worth, I established 2 US businesses - the 1st utilizing and L-1A and the second, an E1 (with a B1, beforehand).

I am not an attorney, but can share anecdotal experience if that...
