Re: Pensions HM Forces

I transferred to the RAAF in July 2008, and therefore have not been here a full financial year, so am still wondering how the tax implications will play out.

I contacted the UK tax office, who...

Re: January 08 Applicants

Uh-oh, it's my eyesight, must need checking - my first post did work after all. Sorry folks, just ignore me, I can't blame the jet lag either, that only lasted a week! :)

I'm so pleased for all of you who are now getting your visa's. It wasn't long ago that we were waiting - almost too scared to log on each day - and now here we are in Brisbane. We have been here...

Re: Medical processing time??

Ours were similar - even with one member of our family as a 'B'. About 2 weeks from receipt at LCU to finalising seems normal at the moment.

Re: January 08 Applicants

We are on a 120 Labour Agreement - which makes our application a little unusual. I've got a job with the Royal Australian Air Force so I think things happen a bit quicker than normal. However, we...

Re: January 08 Applicants

Thanks everyone, your advice worked! I stayed up late and sent emails and made phone calls. Went to bed around 2am, and lay awake most of the night - but at 0645 this morning, when I could stand it...

Re: January 08 Applicants

I've worked-out that Canberra are 9 hours ahead of us, so DIAC must work midnight to 8 am our time (9 to 5 there). Would you expect them to contact us only between those times?

Re: January 08 Applicants

We only applied in January - hence the 'January 08 Applicants' thread :)

DH is in the RAF at the moment - and has a job with the RAAF to go to, so we are on a 120 Labour Agreement. We got a CO...

Re: January 08 Applicants

Folks, we've been watching this thread for a while and reading all your trials and tribulations. In some ways we're lucky, we don't have a house to sell because we're renting. But otherwise we're...

We've just had the same answer from the LCU - 'medicals have been assessed - contact CO for any other information'.

Would the LCU tell us if the medicals were not cleared? Stressed again....

Re: Need help from Agents and/or ex military personnel..

Actually, I flew it from 1998 to 2004, then I went to California for a few years (to fly the KC10), been back here since August 07, mostly...

Re: Need help from Agents and/or ex military personnel..

I'm still serving, and won't have discharge paperwork until after I get my visa (hopefully). I provided a letter from the RAF (SHQ) with my date of discharge on it and that was fine. I'm sure...

Re: Fingerprints constantly rejected by FBI
