Re: Popular eat outs in Goa...

Like how much? For what size? I am talking about a full size, not the tiny ones. I haven't bought tuna in Goa to be honest, but the last time I bought some was in Pune about 4 years ago, and the...

Re: Popular eat outs in Goa...

Just stay away from Rs. 50 for chicken and chips local places that some people on here like to frequent, and you should be fine.

You can only bring so much tuna with you anyway, besides there is...

Re: Thinking of moving to India

At least my post contains solid facts and figures. Most of this is hyperbole, with no basis. As I said earlier, you should refrain from making posts on topics on which you are ill informed.

Re: Thinking of moving to India

Even if he is going to be running a cheap takeaway shop, it's still not going to be Rs. 25 for a portion of fish and chips. Do you not get that?

You are providing a completely wrong and skewed...

Re: Thinking of moving to India

Do you not get that you are flat out wrong? There is nowhere in any restaurant or takeaway in India where you will get a fish and chips dinner for Rs. 25 or any full dinner for that matter. Whether...

Re: Thinking of moving to India

Nice try. You didn't say a bag of chips. You clearly stated the price of a full restaurant meal at Rs. 25.

So again, I ask you. Where in Mapusa, on the street, in Panjim, in Calangute, where CAN...

Re: Thinking of moving to India

LOL are you joking? 25 Rupees???? Tell me where you can get a full meal for 25 rupees.

The average price for a dish at most food courts in the big cities is 100 to 150 rupees. It's not uncommon...

Re: In To-day's Newspapers

There's nothing particularly eye opening about this letter. Spend a couple of days on Anjuna, and all of this is readily apparent. One night it's Curlies, another it's Hippies etc. The beach vendors...

Re: Shipping containers

You don't have to buy new stuff in Goa. Goa is really crap and expensive for shopping, with very little variety. Take a trip to Delhi or Jaipur. A lot of the home decor and furnishing manufacturers...

Re: Best place in India to Live?

I am still curious as to what these "western comforts" are in Goa that you constantly refer to. This whole board is actually nothing but one big moan about lack of western comforts in Goa.

Re: Best place in India to Live?

The last time I was in there it was packed with Russians. Didn't expect to see so many of them, I thought that end of Candolim was more British.

Re: Best place in India to Live?

Goa is not a poor state because of tourists and Goan expats sending home money. Businesses don't think about Goa as the first place to setup shop. Goa itself is one of the least industrialized states...

Re: Best place in India to Live?

I'll put it this way, Goans might be ok on average, but you will not see the sheer wealth that you see in some Indian cities. It's not an industrial centre. The movers, shakers and wealth generators...

Re: Best place in India to Live?

I don't think Goa is the place to be if you are actually looking for "western comforts", in fact, it is probably one of the more backward states in the country.

Pune might be a good choice, it's...
