There's reciprocal agreement between UK and Oz anyway for medical, so you would be Ok :thumbup:

Parental visa parents, in Central Coast? :)

My parents migrated Sep 2010, we moved to Central Coast, NSW Jan 2011. Just wandering if there are any others out there in the same situation who would like to meet up and exchange experiences?? :)

Hiya,

It is confusing because there are 4 visas...

contributory visa - roughly $35,000 each (PLUS assurance bond $7000!!!)

non-contributary visa - no fee but 10 year wait. We were advised...

LOL...!! To clarify then, it was an 'aged contributory visa', applied for on shore. The agent told us the amount of spots left this year (no crystals balls ;), and I believe the waiting is reduced...

Just wanted to share that my parents applied for their visa Sept 2010 and it has just been granted!!!! Now still another 18 spots left for this financial year!!?!?

Thank you, that clears it up! I will wait for UK passport unless we need to go back or travel Euro?? I suspect my kids will before me ;)

So we are now Aussie Citizens (BIG YAY)...question is, if we leave Oz with UK passport can we get back in?? Is PR vias now invalid?? Soooo....do we now need Oz passport to go to UK and...

In answer to your original question....my advise is to ship as much as possible. We are in Sydney and it isn't as cheap as people think out here. Houses are much bigger and need much more...
