The kids are not adopted as far as i am aware but the biological dad is not in their lives. The step dad has been with the mum and kids for over 10 years and are married.

don't know what you mean, my dad is a US Citizen, my brother is also a US citizen but he got there through his mum, as we are siblings by our dad.
