Hello peeps, there is a recent thread on here, regarding recent people medical experience, I would like, would people like to tell us what medical insurance companies they are with and how do ya'll rate them from recent claims.

We may not allowed to put full names of companies, but show we can use abbreviations, and its for us to find the rest through mr googleee.

Well, this really is a completely pointless thread. Most people get insurance through an employer and the employer sets the coverage. Even if you go privately the policies are many and varied. That means you can have 1000 people who go through the same insurance company and all of them have different policies. Some may be perfectly happy because it fits them well, other may be livid because theirs doesn't cover the one medication they need. Plus there are thousands and thousands of different insurance companies and number of them are region specific.

If you want to get a more accurate answer you would need to divulge your medical history and conditions as well as anyone else who would be insured, where you are going to live, if you are getting insurance via a job, if you need any specific treatments or medications and how much you want to spend. Overall insurance companies are largely the same, they will all pay out based on what coverage you policy defines unless they can get out of it.

Just a few for you to get started.

Hi ukman,

It's really tough to answer this question in a way that will really help you I suspect, given the many differences not only between the companies and the various policies they offer, but also based on the regional differences that will affect who will service the policy and which doctors accept / do not accept that brand.

There are big names like Aetna, Blue Cross, Kaiser, but again, it really depends on the specifics of the policy you select (or your employer selects to offer). But how they will treat you varies incredibly on so many factors that it is hard to say 'this one is great and this one sucks' (because often it will be one in the same).

There are some basic bits here:
