Re: Steve Coogan: worth going to see?

If it helps, there was a sign saying they were filming parts of the show for a 'future project' so I suspect there will be a tour dvd in the not too distant future. :)

Re: Steve Coogan: worth going to see?

We saw him last night - he was amazing, the 'less successful' characters were all much better live and Alan Partridge was just fantastic. I will be singing the closing song for weeks to come.....

Re: Adelaide Night Out - 11th October

It is always hard on the organiser of these things when it doesn't go to plan. That's why no one else wants to be the one to organise things, not from this site anyway. Wendy does a really valuable...

Re: Adelaide Night Out - 11th October

They actually left Friday but we were exhausted after the week and had a big clean up operation to do, that's why we said no to last night, begrudgingly.

Friday sounds good - same time, same...

Re: Adelaide Night Out - 11th October

Hi guys

That sucks, we would have been there had it not been for the guests (remind me to tell you about our 'experience' there) but it sounds like you managed to entertain yourselves plenty!

Re: Adelaide Girls

Hey Linloo

Thanks for the invite but we're up at the Barossa this weekend, looks like you've scared the other girls off too with your talk of male strippers :D

We'll catch up for coffee or...

Re: Adelaide Coffe Meet - August 2008 in the city

A quick (unquoting!!) message for Mitra - I'll catch up with you on Friday, sorry I haven't been in touch but got a new phone and all my contact info was lost in between the old and the new!! It's...

Re: Going alone and suddenly terrified at the prospect!

Hey Freckles

Besides leaving friends and family our experience was remarkably easy compared to what you're going through but we were still terrified/excited/nervous all mixed together. I think...

Re: Where to stay in Adelaide amongst other things

We were paying about $700 a week I think at the Grand Apartments which is more than we would have ideally liked but covered everything and importantly for us, gave us the flexibility to move on at a...

Re: ***Where should I live in Australia?***

Hey there

Sounds like a great adventure you've got planned! In your position I would seriously see if you can get a bit of a holiday when you get here and see all the big cities. We did 6 weeks...

Re: Where to stay in Adelaide amongst other things

I'm sure Wendy will spot this thread anyway but either way we can get something set up for that weekend then. There was a good mix last time of people who've been here a few years, 6 monthers like us...

Re: Where to stay in Adelaide amongst other things

Dresscircle run the Grand Apartments too so you'll certainly find something good there. There are cheaper places but they're fulled kitted out, serviced well and as I say, the broadband was a life...

Re: Where to stay in Adelaide amongst other things

Hey there

We stayed in the Grand Apartments too, locationwise they're hard to beat as you're walking distance from the city centre (especially useful for stuff like Medicare and driving licences...

Re: First Australian birthday - anyone fancy a bevvie in Adelaide??

No worries, as long as you've got some work that's the main thing. Where's Disability SA then? Are you in the city? We're top of Rundle Mall if you fancy a coffee one lunchtime?

Brilliant! Must have been a good night eh :D

Not sure we can do the 19th as we have friends over but might see if I can persuade them to pop down for a bit.

I've only heard of Shennanigans there too but I believe they do a decent pint so maybe we don't need to look any further....

Re: Adelaide

I don't mind doing it - just got to work out some dates I guess. I'll pop a new thread on, have you been to any of the bars down at the Westfield? That's easy enough for people to get too I guess.

Re: Will my Digital Radio work in oz?

We've got a Bug and we bought that as we love it but there are no stations available as Racht70 says so we can't even set it up with the time! We're keeping hold of it as they're bound to get digital...
