Also if employer sponsors to PR then I believe there would be also be an expectancy for the employee to stay in that position for a length of time.......

A bridging visa would be placed by immigration on application to move from the 457 to PR; however this visa would be for you as the visa owner of the 457. Your hubby is only entitled to work due to...

Have spoken to DIAC yesterday - they think we will have a CO in January......that would make us around the 7 month mark. :fingerscrossed:

mrsgreenstar is correct - you will be tied to the employer for 2 years (exceptional circumstances would be considered by DIAC).

Put in our application just over 3 months ago, have had acknowledgement but that is the extent.....our application is in at Melbourne and is not DRC so looking at around the 9 month mark :(

Just to add that due to the changes that occured as of July 2012 the processing is taking longer than usual. If you have been entered for an ENS this could also explain the extended length of time....

Hey thanks - no we have done it ourselves.....

Its all approved by the NT gov for the RSMS and we have been verbally advised (as I phoned) by Melbourne that they have received the application.
