He has a visa for Ancestry Leave to Remain which expires in Feb. 2014. He renewed it when he was still in the UK but didn't choose the Leave to Remain indefinitely option, because he wasn't planning...

Re: My husband's 'Right of Abode'. Is it still valid?

No, he chose not to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain as he always intended to return to Canada to live. He is hoping that he still has that option upon his return to the UK, and that it has not...

Re: Caster sugar

I've found that the Atlantic Super Store's extra fine sugar is practically the same as caster sugar, whereas Sobey's fine sugar isn't the same. We're in Nova Scotia.

Re: cost of living in Nova Scotia

I agree with you. I'm here at present and will be for a while. As you say, food is so much cheaper, and I can buy half a cucumber:-)! My OH doesn't like them and it takes me a while to munch my way...

Re: A word of praise for Air Canada.

Yes, I've always found that T3 is very efficient and the staff at Halifax have always been friendly. I had to change my next trip back to the UK from January to this month, as my daughter is ill with...

Re: Buried or cremated in Canada or the UK?

My dad died when I was young - I was 12, so like you, I didn't have him around for a long time. I'm interested in that you said you've signed papers. I've told the person who deals with that sort of...

Re: Buried or cremated in Canada or the UK?

I'd like my ashes to be placed in a grave with my dad back in the Somerset village churchyard where I lived (the village - not the churchyard!) before I came to Canada. I've nobody in Canada, apart...
