There are a lot of places in China with very little polution but that's generally due to lack of people living in the area.

You did not say where you are planning to live but air pollution in China ranges from bad to worse. Hard to imagine that this will agree with asthma.

The issues with Wyeth "repacking" (the whole operation in a not quite sanitary warehouse) have happened about 10 years ago so it might have improved.

The problem with such a sudden stop to this particular trade route is that it was used to send young cattle to Indonesia where it was grown up to the size. Cattle remaining in Australia at the moment...

As far as I understand the live cattle is sent to Indonesia as young ones, than they spend quite a long time in Indonesia growing up till they reach slaughter...
