Not as polite in Australia (generally speaking), but it is not really something that has had as long to develop - less traffic. People would be murdering each other left, right and centre in the UK...

I would certainly not bank on prices in the UK rising until 2008. The boom is over and we are heading into stagnation time AT BEST. You would be better off buying in Oz, where prices are already...

Me and my husband worked in Newcastle for 3 years. Love it there. Quite a good night out to be had as well. It is beautiful, surrounded by water and pretty trendy in the centre.

Hi - actually we were first insured with Norwich Union (also accepted our NCB) because we imported our car from Oz and they were the only one's who would ensure while we were waiting for UK...

You can open a bank account in London with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, they transfer your funds and set up Oz bank account all ready for your arrival. It is a special migration service.

Does owning property in Oz mean that you can renew your RRV? I know if you hold property in the UK you are considered resident? My husbands RRV is up in 2010, but we own property in Oz.

I have rented my house in Oz, now in UK. I asked the ATO how they would know if I bought a property in the UK. They said they have very good links with the UK regarding tax. Vways and means.

We shipped car from AU to UK. We could not fill it with possessions. Get your speedo changed to km's before you go to save the hassle when you get there.
