Tons of Brits have second homes in the US..
If you want it as a holiday home that you will use a lot then it could be cheaper to own...we use ours about 4/5 months of the year the cost of renting...

All I can say is 3 times now my dad has had to pay out in the UK to keep my mum alive..20/30 thousand pound a shot is hard to find when you are retired..
I can't moan as yet about US health...

Calabay Parc is very nice...so is Tuscan Ridge...Calabay rents well...Tuscan holds its value..
Just don't go near any KB in the area...

if you want it as a second home and can use it a lot yourself and can afford to not rent...then fine...I think along route 27 is a long term good buy...but renting is a mugs game...

It was not easy getting one...but I had a bit of paper from the SS office saying I did not need a SS number for a licence...so I was bloody well going to get one...:rofl:

I drove on my Brit license for a year...I was told by both the DMV and my Ins company that it was OK...the State trooper who I took my test with asked how long I'd been driving in the USA I told him...

My FL bills if I'm there for a month are about a quarter of my MA bills....
We only had to pay a deposit for water in FL...they have only just given it back to us after 4 years...

That sounds very much like Cape Cod MA...we don't have to pay to use the bridges...but for months of the year the wait to get off the Cape can take 5 hours...and 5 hours to get back on...so its not...

We have a large shower and large bath two sinks in our master in FL...and full size baths with shower combo in the other 2 bathrooms...

In MA...we don't have a master bathroom...just this tiny...
