if he is not allowed to bring it in on a bridging visa, is there any other way we can bring it in?

My friend is on a bridging visa and wants to bring his furniture into Australia so that he can rent a house.

Does anyone know whether the CampingGaz cylinders are compatible in Oz?

I know we can take gas cylinders over if they are empty, but just don't know whether they are exchangable, refillable...

I have heard / read somewhere that from 1 July 2005 the Import Permit is no longer required. That may bring the price down a bit! Has anyone heard this?
