Default Camping Gas

Hi

Does anyone know whether the CampingGaz cylinders are compatible in Oz?

I know we can take gas cylinders over if they are empty, but just don't know whether they are exchangable, refillable whatever . . . .

Thanks

Good question! I was wondering the same for the small gas containers (like hairspray size) that we've got for our camping stove? I know we can buy them over here at 4 for about £10. Are we able to get these in oz - if not I suppose its pointless taking the mini stove?!

Most gas here is LPG .......WE just use the swap and go system, ie take your empty cylinder in and swap it for a full one ,saves waiting around for an attendant.......................... mm

You can get disposable clyinders in Kmart,to suit most european gear, just check the age of your gas clyinder as they will not fill them after a certain age , i think its 10 years ?................ mm

Thanks so much. I think we're ok if it's 10 years - just bought the permanent cylinder in the past three years.

Good news to hear about the availability of disposable ones. Whew.

Now all my husband has to do is convince me to go camping in Oz. VERY nervous of dodgy bugs getting into my tent - and I don't mean my husband!!

God I am soooo with you on this one - bloody terrified! People keep making jokes to me about spiders, snakes and crocodiles and I just don't find it funny at all! Absolutely sh***ing myself! Hope I can get over it when we get there otherwise it'll be a pretty short visit! :scared:
