Mount Kidd is great, so is Eau Claire, although it has less facilities. Can't remember the name, but there's a great campground at the end of route 66 in K country, can't guarantee anything on bears...

I live about 20 miles from you, and like you if we have more than 2 inches of snow life as we know it stops, that's why I asked what was a bit of an odd question.
