Online application - is VAF4A also needed?

Can someone confirm that if applying for a settlement/ILR Visa from outside the UK, using the online application system, that we do not need to complete the hard copy VAF4A form as well?

UK Settlement Visa for child

My wife and I (who are British citizens) are applying for a UK Settlement Visa for our adopted Ugandan child.

With a Visitor Visa for a child, the Visa page/stamp on the child's passport states...

Sorry, yes we only have Legal Guardianship but that was enough for the visitor visa...

Application fee = $550 x2
PR fee = $490 x2
total = $2080 = £909 (approx)

plus your medical examination; police certificates; and language testing....
