If your staying centrally in Catania then i would agree with your friend.

Sounds obvious, but check Trenitalia's website as its quite good for mixing trains/buses and finding the right schedules....

Yes, From experience it will go through the Poste, Only thing I dont like with them is the tracking is terrible, and takes far longer!

I used Parcel2go and it went through DPD here in the UK, and then transferred to BRT, Arrived to Sicily within 5 days though to give them their dues!

Yes, I sent across a parcel in August. The import fees were minimal but BRT charged an 18euro admin fee before releasing the parcel!
