Re: Big 4 Audit SM Job Offer Dubai

First, don't ever take anything they tell you as true. Directors do exist in the Big 4 there and this is likely just bait.

Second, a two bedroom in Dubai, last I looked a year and a bit ago, sets...

Re: What is your experience so far of Living in Riyadh?

Second this. I went the other way round and life is so much easier. Traffic issue is not about congestion but about how they drive, i.e. horribly and super rudely. Customer service is non-existent....

Re: One more Riyadh compound thread

Two tricky bits. One: not sure whether compounds would accept you for 6 months. All the ones I dealt with required a one year contract. You could ask if they would agree to 6 months, but be aware...

Re: One more Riyadh compound thread

Hmm depends on what "not a huge budget" means. For some people this would mean SAR 60k pa, for others SAR 250k pa. Also don't know what size you'd want. I looked at 2 beds and the pricing was in the...

Re: Accommodation Challenges in Neom (NC2)

Everyone should take heed of this. Things will never go the way you will expect. Also, don't under any circumstances expect the HR people to actually provide useful guidance - check and sort...

Re: One more Riyadh compound thread

Hi,

I surfed the websites and then went in person to Nakhla, Californa, Ranco and Arabian Homes.

I went for Ranco on the value for money basis. Also the apartment I got is quite nice and new....

Re: Cost of living in Riyadh-KSA

As all will say it depends but for a single person SAR 35k is decent especially if you live off compound. Taurus85's figures are quite on spot, with leisure part one that varies massively depending...

Re: One more Riyadh compound thread

A reliable Ford?! Wow. I'll still stick with Asian. How often does one have to service a "normal" car used in "normal" conditions (town driving)? I get the impression you have to change...

Fair enough. So it will be a banger then. Always scored more with the other grief-causing loss maker when driving bangers, too.

Wouldn't it be expensive to rent/lease cf. eg buying a 10 yr old semi-banger Toyota for cash?

Re: One more Riyadh compound thread

My 2 cents: don't buy German! You don't want your car being towed to the shop in 40+ heat. Buy Japanese/Korean. A crapbox too, if it's a Toyota or so it will still work. And pocket the money, why...

Laugh we may but I recently drove the newest model of the Sandero and GOOD NEWS! there is honestly no reason at all to choose e.g. a Golf over the...

Re: UK PAYE corporate employee work / contract - working physically in Dubai

As UKMS said definitely seek professional advice. Your UK sourced income could still be taxed in the UK even if you are not there. Perhaps your employer would be willing to pay for such advice. And...

Re: Road trip through Eastern Europe in November

Roads and driving standards will get progressively worse the further east you go. When you enter Serbia you’ll get on a stretch of motorway with tons of potholes (unless this has been fixed in the...

Re: One more Riyadh compound thread

Do hijack - the more people sharing their experience the better.

At the moment we’re leaning towards Ranco or Cordoba as cheper options or Nakhla as more expensive. Of course this may change...

Re: One more Riyadh compound thread

An hour's commute is not great but not disastrous; where I am now I have a 40 minute commute.

What are the rush hour times - or is it always crazy?
