Re: Lowest drawn CRS is way below mine, but I didn't get drawn.

No worries. Thank you for replying.

I would be interested in Quebec, but I thought they wouldn't be interested in me since I don't speak French at all. I asked my co-worker (who's from Quebec) if...

Re: Is canada getting too hard to gain entry to.

The idea of that is honestly not appealing. I wouldn't want to stay somewhere in the middle of nowhere there unless it was for a short period of time.

To be honest, I'm an English teacher and I'm...

Re: Is canada getting too hard to gain entry to.

I'm starting to panic that I won't get in at all. My partner and I have a CRS of 415 in an occupation that's not in demand (NOC 4021) and so far there have been 2 draws with scores much lower than us...

Re: Lowest drawn CRS is way below mine, but I didn't get drawn.

Yes it's for the AINP. I apologize for not specifying.

My NOC is 4021. It's not on the list of ineligible codes.

Lowest drawn CRS is way below mine, but I didn't get drawn.

Forgive me if this is a very noobish question.

My partner and I have a total score of 415, which is much lower than we need for Express Entry, but we are aiming for a provincial nomination from...

Re: Proving Common-Law Relationship

So if we did get married, having cash in her account won't be a big deal?

She has well over the minimum funds in her bank account, but I don't (well, in cash). She would add my name to her...

Re: Proving Common-Law Relationship

We don't drive (so no car insurance) and we don't have any life insurance. I don't have any work benefits like that, and when I used to, there was no option for adding a spouse. Anyway, in Korea,...

Proving Common-Law Relationship

Hey everybody,

So one of the biggest barriers to getting a Canadian PR is proving that my common-law relationship is real. As some of you may know, I've been living in South Korea for a few years...

Re: Second Class Citizen

They might just have no other choice, if they're finding it hard to be accepted.

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

We are not married but have discussed it. We've been living together for over 2 years but most things are in her name. My ID shows the same address as her but I'm not sure how to prove the time...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

Interesting. Well we'll both apply them, with each other as the spouse.

On another note, my transcripts arrived from England today all stamped and sealed like I asked. I only contacted them 2...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

Can we both make EE profiles with each other as our spouses? Is it allowed?

I suppose we could re-use documents which reduces costs and we don't pay for the PR until after the nomination stage...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

Oops! Sorry lol.

So I'll be sure to select only Alberta and pray it goes through.

My girlfriend has been teaching exam Spanish (like IELTS) for 10 years to Koreans. She has studied in Canada...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

Yeah I'm afraid of that. I have friends there but that's about it. I could also express interest in other less desirable states (If there is no penalty or downside from doing so - like if it makes me...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

That's what I was hoping.

I'm also confused. When I go on the Alberta PNP website, I can select Express Entry as a stream and it gives me some information here...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

I mean the NOC list. Since my occupation is on the NOC list and I can prove work experience for it, I didn't think that specific qualifications would be required at the immigration stage.

I'm...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

Will the certification be required to get the visa? I'm not intending on working in ESL once in Canada (see my above post) but if a cert is required for immigration then that really sucks. I can take...

Re: Proof of Funds / Student Loans

I'm not actually hoping to get an ESL job in Alberta. It's just that it's my only work experience that I can claim. I'm not fussy about what I'd get on arrival, but I intend to work in software...

Proof of Funds / Student Loans

Before I go into details about this, I want to say thank you to the people who helped me out in my recent thread (https://britishexpats.com/forum/canada-56/canadians-really-hard-get-close-926513/)....

Ah yes I forgot to address your earlier question of fluctuating points. I had tried a few different options in the calculator. Anyway, you have gone and done that for me - thank you.

Re: Are Canadians really that hard to get close to?

May I ask, even though this is in the Canada forum, how happy are you in Australia? Was it a good idea to move?

Re: Are Canadians really that hard to get close to?

I'm sorry for that. I helped derail this topic into one about Australia and my own personal situation.

I'd also like to avoid a migration expert unless necessary.

Re: Are Canadians really that hard to get close to?

Sorry for not posting more details. Here is my current situation:

I'm 32. Not old, but old enough that opportunities have already started closing. My partner is 35.
I have a degree in...

Absolutely, you are right. I am very happy with her and the most important thing is that we are together. That said, i think it's still good to deliberate on which path we would like to go on, for...

Re: Are Canadians really that hard to get close to?

After re-checking some other sites, and another calculator, I could get as many as 75 points for the subclass 190 (state nomination) and If I select that my partner can pass a skills test (but I...
