Wow. That is fantastic to know. Basically it means once you have residency you cannot lose it as long as you visit a few times every 5 years. Great for things like tax.

The problem with British is that they might not comply with all the various regulations which can mean they are not always registered correctly with the authorities, this in turn can make it harder...

If you want zero risk NS&I is best as it is UK government. Premium Bonds are 4.4% at moment and others around 3.6%
They are super easy to use as well.

NS&I allows non residents accounts but UK based banks won't so you will have to use the off-shore ones. People used to maintain there UK savings accounts by not notifying the bank of their address...

I very much doubt you can stay over 90 days to wait for a decision unless you could prove that the whole process has taken more than 90 days. If you could it would mean anyone could keep making...
