Torrevieja town is very Spanish compared to the surrounding places. Flats are hard to find now as many foreigners Airbnb and prices have increased a lot since the pandemic however much cheaper than the popular expat places like Punta Prima, La Zenia, Playa Flamenca which are now more expensive than some cities in UK.!

I think I heard (no experience) a lot of campsites were closed down, and now the whole setup is based on legalised and proper sanitation camper van parks.
I think you need to do a lot of research before you take any life-changing leaps.
I have lived in Torrevieja twice but left in 2014 and would not return, but hey, each to their own.

Welcome.
A very quick websearch brings up the following..
https://spaincaravansales.com/campsi...oogle_vignette
https://www.campinglomonte.com/en/
Camping Florantilles - Las mejores vacaciones en la Costa Blanca
https://albateramobilehomepark.co.uk/
You would have to contact them to see if they allow year-round living.
I only bookmarked these places to avoid them when we do our house searches....
I think a lot of the residential ones are disappearing, and (in Benidorm) more motorhome sites are springing up.
