When we stayed in Melbourne couple of years ago, our studio heater had broken. I insisted the agent bring in a portable heater (X 2) until the main unit was restored.. Pls fight for your rights!

I think you need a medicare number and some sort of ID (usually the passport with the PR) to open a Bank account. As far as TFN goes, I think your future employer usually arranges for you...
