I'm in the exact same situation and use my PR card to enter Canada all the time with Indiana plates on my car. The border guard normally questions why I'm a Canadian PR living in the US. I just...

Hey liftman, yes it is very nice to see you back on the boards.

Re: New minister doesn't seem to be waisting time....

Probably one of the best articles I've read on this subject for a long time and it addresses what people have been saying here for a long time.

I was there from 95 to 03. I did have a job for the first 6 of those years but was out of work for about 18 months and moved to the US in 03.

Not an easy question really but in the end I would...

Re: Unsuccessful Canadian Move

Karl,

There was an extremely long thread recently about this very situation.
Many people agreed that the "Canadian experience" / "Protectionist practices by licensing bodies" found in Canada is...

Re: Property crash is finally here in UK

Canada from 1995 and then the US from 2003.

Actually, I was aware you had been an expat which is why, if you read my post again you'll see that it was directed at Gremlin (who of course may well...

Re: Property crash is finally here in UK

True indeed.

That said, "the point" of these forums (in fact "the only point" of these forums) is for conversation between expats now living abroad, former expats or soon to be expats planning on...

Re: Education better or worse?

I'm guessing it varies from one part of Canada to another in much the same way as I'm sure it does in the UK.

My kids were 10 and 6 when we arrived in 1995 and went to school in Waterloo, ONT.
2...

Re: Education better or worse?

Re: Decided not to go

So anyway this thread is pretty exhausted so I'm gonna try and inject a new lease of life into it and ask the question:

Do you find recruitment agencies as nauseating as I do??

Do you think...

Re: Decided not to go

You know the sad part is that if this issue of misleading immigrants could be sorted out then in my opinion Canada would be the most wonderful place in the world.

I moved there with my family in...

It just reiterates what I said earlier, but then judging from your reply you already knew that.

Re: Decided not to go

This thread, like so many others, demonstrates how the views of people differ enormously depending on whether that person actually lives here, or whether they live...

Re: Decided not to go

You make a very good point. However, not everyone thinks alike and that is why discussions like this on these forums are so invaluable to prospective immigrants.

By the way Jonny, I lived in...
