Our dog is a Husky/Retriever cross. He's about 30lbs.
Used Air transat Glasgow to Toronto, 275 quid.
Extra Large crate, big enough to turn around in.
No question about weight limits, just about...

I got a 1998 F150 for 2400 when we first arrived. I loved that thing. Cheap on parts and relatively bullet proof. Just make sure you get good tire with a truck as they can be quite expensive.
