As a resident of Marlborough for 7 years agree with the comments - especially about the weather in Havelock and Picton.

Need to add that Havelock in the winter is very prone to fog for days on...

Lived in Renwick and then Blenehim for the last five years or so and loved it.

Moved to Renwick and rented when we first arrived - great place with a village feel. Good supermarket, couple of pubs...

Yep - same quality but four or five times the price. Hence when we go back in June to see the family travelling out with empty suitcases but will make sure they aren't on the way back;)

Once we arrived and had to go and replace the 'tired' bits and bobs we thought were past it we realized we should have brought it all - some regular things can be expensive and not as good quality. ...

Agree with Catcha - Picton is very quiet in the winter although a stunning spot when the weather is good. Can have mad days in the summer when up to a couple of thousand tourists arrive on cruise...

London to Greymouth in 2006. Chalk and cheese but loved it and a great way to immerse in Kiwi culture. Had to get the mind around the differences which really were all down to being spoilt in the UK...
