Re: Where to do BEng or BSc in Dubai?

I don't know what things are like in Dubai, but here in Qatar they've stopped accepting online courses as valid credentials even if they're from a reputable institution, so I would be wary of that if...

Re: Salutations, closings and sign-offs in correspondence

Had this discussion with some friends back home the other day - turns out we all use "Kind regards" when we want to say "***** you and your entire family" but don't want to get fired...

Re: Couple, no kids - where to rent in Dubai?

A 20min walk in summer would have me absolutely drenched in sweat. There's no way I could go to work in that state.

Re: Problems at the gulf airlines ??

I like the A380s as I'm 6'4" and still get plenty of leg space in economy. Deliberately book my QA flight times to Heathrow to make sure I get one of them.

Re: Problems at the gulf airlines ??

Might even be quicker than the eGate queue now everybody can use it. Not been through the airport since then but I'm guessing it's still a bit chaotic when people haven't used it before...

Re: Moving from Dxb back to the UK

I rarely had any problems with the line into Stratford, but as soon as that sodding Metro got involved it turned into a lottery...

Re: What sort of Brexit do you want?

I voted Remain and I haven't seen anything that's changed my mind from that since then, but if we're going to go (and I don't see how this vote in the house of commons would possibly stop that) then...

Re: Hair transplants

I used to do the same thing when I was doing loads of triathlon - I got so fed up of all the washing when training twice daily that I just clipped it down to 1. Much simpler.

Re: Moving on

He dictated the leaving email? Was he that worried about what you might say otherwise?

I can confirm that the 45 day thing applies to credit cards over here as well, so bear that in mind when...

Re: Moving on

I have been assured that this is the case. In fact, they were surprised I even came back to work at all that day instead of wandering off to get started on them, despite the fact we had a big...

Re: Moving on

I have a page worth of signatures needed from the various departments for my company to prove I don't have anything signed out to me or owe any money. This includes going to a library I've never...

Re: Moving on

Cheers, I'll have a look! Handily someone who left here last year wrote a checklist based on his experiences leaving, so I've got a good starting point. I'm going to update it in the process for...

Re: Room 101

Re: DXB Transport between terminals

Re: Closing down UAE credit card / bank account

I am far too paranoid about things in this region to not get a letter - I've got all this kind of stuff to do over the next couple of months and I want written confirmation of EVERYTHING. Possibly...

Re: DXB Transport between terminals
