Re: 25/2/2026: New rule for British dual nationals - must travel on UK passport

I'm a little confused by this video. Is the Irish (EU) passport still accepted for entrance to the UK? Or will you need to carry your British passport with your Irish passport for entering the UK?
I...

Re: Returning to Spain to live

Please check the expiry date on your TIE. On what date did you leave Spain?
The date (year) on your TIE would indicate that you were a permanent resident when you applied for your TIE on xx/xx/2021.

Re: Holiday apartment insurance

Who's your current insurer? Don't forget that you'll usually have to give them 1 month notice to quit before renewal.

Re: The Green Certificate will not be recognised by the EU's Entry Exit System

I've heard that renewals for WA TIEs issued for new residents after July 2020 will not be exchanged until after they expire. Apparently the police computor can't issue permanent TIEs until after 5...

Re: Now we are going to lose BBC sounds

It's a shame that they don't seem to be able to offer a subscription based service for people outside the UK, without a licence. I'm sure that this would reduce the burden for the few people left who...

Re: TIE/passport control/Schenghen travel

It's possible that your passport may be stamped if your presenting a temporary TIE that wasn't issued under the WA. I guess the Spanish authorities would need to check how long you've been out of the...

Re: Money Transfer to Spain

I use WISE to transfer money from my UK bank to my N26 account. I've transferred quite a bit recently because of the exchange rate. However, I don't get interest on my N26 account but still get 4.5%...

Re: How to remove illegal occupants of apartments (squatters)

You'll probably find that the squatters now have a bogus rental contract and the police were responding to the squatters (tenants) claims that they were being harassed by the landlord. They will also...

Re: Apartment insurance

If your building is already covered by communal insurance I would enquire about "first loss" insurance. Liberty insurance do offer this and it can be significantly cheaper. Do check with your admin'...

Re: Community of owners not set up

This doesn't sound right and I would be wary of your solicitor. He should be doing the research & advising you but he sounds like he's leaving it all up to you.

Do you know the reason why the...

Re: Pensions (plural)

Contracting out affects any state UK pension taken after 2016. This can drastically reduce your UK pension if contracted out for a long period.

I took early retirement in 2012 and I've just...

Re: NIE. Does it expire?

Your NIE (tax number) doesn't expire until you do.
The requirement from Sabadell, or any non resident Spanish bank account, is to confirm that you're still a UK tax payer. They usually let the AEAT...

Re: Passport Stamp Needed when Entering Spain with an NLV?

Yes, with a NLV you can only be outside of Spain for a maximum of up to 6 months in any one year and a total of 10 months in the first 5 years. www.ageinspain.org/post/non-lucrative-visa-nlv-guide...

Re: Thinking of going fully to Wise

Yes I would be concerned if I had shares in the bank. However, I'm only a customer and my paltry funds are protected by the 100,000 euro bank compensation scheme, unlike WISE.
