Default Holiday apartment insurance

Hi
my apartment insurance is about to run out and it seems dear at 243 euros for a 2 bed apartment in a lovely area. I like that there is 3000 euros provision for squatters, can anyone tell me or recommend to me a good alternative insurer who is competitive on price?

regards
Al

May be worth getting an insurance broker to do the donkey work for you. I have used Salt Bay in the past and found them straightforward to deal with.

To be honest, that quote is probably not far off - insurance has gone up way above inflation - but it does pay to shop around.

Try Linea Direct ….. always found them very good and competitive. It’s hard to know whether 243 euros is reasonable until you get a couple of other quotes.

Who's your current insurer? Don't forget that you'll usually have to give them 1 month notice to quit before renewal.

Hi
Thank you all for taking the time. I seem to be insured by a company called “Generali” who have a red lion with wings as a logo, I think it’s a griffin!

is this a good company? I have been insured with liberty shield in times past!

regards
al

Generali took Liberty over last year -

'Yes, Generali has acquired Liberty Seguros, a transaction that was completed on January 31, 2024. The acquisition includes Liberty Seguros' operations in Spain, Portugal, and Ireland, strengthening Generali's market position in Europe. Liberty Seguros has been renamed Generali Seguros y Reaseguros, S.A.U. in Spain and its existing policies remain unaffected.'

I have not made a claim, so I cannot comment on their service. I thought the premium renewals were on the high side, so next year I will look around to see if I can save some money.
