Apartment insurance

Hi esteemed group,
I have received my apartment insurance renewal request.
my question to you guys is does this seem right? The premium is 222 euros pa. I know the community has its own insurance, but if I am honest I haven’t got a clue what it covers. I am just reviewing my insurance as a general scrutiny of outgoings after just paying it for years, it is with Liberty.
these are the figures covered

You can request copy of building insurance from building management.
Its waste of your money to pay insurance on building you dont own. Content insurance is pointless unless you have receipt for every single item.
I could buy insurance for White House, but doesnt mean I can ever make a claim.

I'm pretty sure the buildings insurance quoted is the structural insurance for the flat. What's the original Spanish word, perhaps it's continente?
Insurance for the whole building is paid for from everyone's monthly comunidad payments.

I thought the point was that community building insurance covers exactly that—the communal areas and not the inside of your flat. So, for example, if you have a water leak inside your flat (washing machine, etc.) and it leaks to another flat, you can claim from your insurance and pay for your and your neighbours' repairs. It also protects you against loss, fire, and third-party injuries.
It is mandatory if you have a mortgage and can include home maintenance callouts.
I paid 187€ this year with Liberty for a similar flat I own.

Thank you for your contributions
I always thought the structural integrity of the building was covered by the community ie the floor the floors and external walls of your flat.
you need cover for water leaks, windows, doors, fixtures such as toilet and sink and obviously third party cover if your flat leaked into someone else’s.
i suppose the question is E74,000 too much cover Sr Spainrico how much cover does your insurance cover for?
regards
Al

If an apartment gets flooded or fire damage the insurance assessor, can see for themself what is there and damaged. Contents insurance is far more than covering things you have bought in a shop with a receipt.

with respect utter rubbish, although if you believe that then of course it’s your prerogative.

Wow, your sentences are so ridiculous, If there is fire and everything burned down, how can assessor identify what is what, what model, size or anything from burned out remains!
Of-course, they can easily read Sony labels from tech and also label from your expensive sofa!
Have you ever claimed content insurance AND got paid for items without proof of purchase? Didnt think so.
Content insurance is content insurance! What is more than that? What a rubbish thing to say.

People do not have the receipts for everything in their homes because many of the items in the home have been gifts, inherited etc. Saying that contents insurance is pointless is not true at all, it is very important to cover your goods. Granted it would be easier for an assessor if there were receipts for every thing however in reality that is rarely possible and definitely not necessary.

Content insurance is not pointless if you got receipts for most of your expensive items.
Try claiming content insurance on your big 80" Sony tv that just got stolen, without any purchase receipt.

Sorry, but that is just wishful thinking. Good luck with your claim, if you ever have to make one.
