Citizenship test and 1st October

Just to let those know who qualify - if you are thinking of applying for citizenship you still have 24-48hrs to lodge your application electronically and pay by visa to avoid the citizenship test.

gems - so you were then living in australia and your baby had an aussie passport? and on returning to the uk you arranged for the baby to have a uk passport?

its my first tax return as well, my tax consultant says that im only due part of the $6000 tax free bracket (pro rata) calculated from the time i arrived in australia ?? i got my visa...

think im getting there worked out the equation.

So does a pensioner pay 15% tax on all of their supprannuation/ pension payout. for example if their superannuation only pays out 15k a year do...

Thanks Alistair does that mean that should the 6 months expire and I dont manage to transfer the funds across its still considered an undeductible contribution.

Also if I do transfer the fund...

Hifx seem uncompetitive at the moment, Commonwealth quoted me 2.5280 when the inter-bank rate was 2.544, at the sametime (5 mins later) HIFX were quoting 2.519.

Ive found recently commonwealth have better rates than HIFX (approx 0.05 difference). HIFX send me the daily spot rates but when I have enquired further they have never been able to match these even...

Just a quick query... I realise theres loads of historic threads on here but

I bought a dvd at Christmas in Oz (forgot about regions) took it back to the uk and it works in my UK PS2 fine.......
