Games from Oz and UK wil play fine on a PS2 bought in either country. This is because they are designed for PAL systems. You can generally see this on the back of the box.

well only illegal in blighty from last month, sony won the case to get the website guy put out of business, essentially making it illegal to see chips that circumnavigate copy protection of the p/s...but if it's already done...

As far as my DVDs go, I have lots that my parents send me from Australia.
Australia is Region 4...... UK is Region 2. In my experience, all my Region 4 DVDs will play on my region 2 DVD Player & vice versa..... don't know why but they do! I can also confirm that my DVD Player is not Multi Region as I can only play Region 0, Region 2 & Region 4 DVDs........
