Question Teaching jobs in Victoria - applying

Help please !

Has anybody got any recent experience of applying for teaching jobs in victoria/ melbourne. My wife has now received her VIC registration and is wondering whether its worth now applying for jobs?. We will be arriving in early Jan 05 (school holiday time). We imagine that you will not be able to get a teaching position without a formal `face to face interview` and/or presentation so probably not worth applying until we get there?!. Also do you have to fill in the State's `Application for employment in a School` Form for every post you apply for as this requires completion of a Stat dec and certified copies of loads of documents birth certificates, qualifications etc (same info as the VIC reg). We realise that you tailor your application according to the position statement.

Any other help/ advice would be gladly received.

Cheers

Scott and Fiona
