The author of the linked article has come back with observations on the additional new data and 45,000 climb.

It's always possible that the pilots lost radio some time after saying good night but...

Re: Malaysian 777

Aviation industry constantly quotes plane safety based on miles traveled.

Re: Subaru cars

I had a forester St/b turbo 220bhp if memory serves, went like the clappers, neither snow, ice or mud stopped it and it was pretty fun to drive and went round bends like it was on rails.

Re: Washing machines in Canada?

Nevertheless withabix's comment stands correct. UK / Irish kettles are more effective at boiling water. Those 40 seconds could be very important rushing out to work of a morning ;)

Or if you add...

Re: Malaysian 777

I think the electrical fire theory makes sense

Pilots pull the bus fuses to control the fire they turned to try and make Langkawi runway and were at some point overcome with fumes and the plane...

I like the electrical fire theory

Re: Washing machines in Canada?

If you brought a kettle from UK or Ireland to N. America it would take a lot longer to boil as it's rated for 240V so only has half the power.

Kettles bought in UK typically are 3KW so boil water...

Re: Should capital punishment be reinstated right here?

in the Lee rigby case it was a pity that no armed soldiers were nearby who shot the attackers in self defence. Not a jury in the land would have convicted them.
