To qualify for EB1 you don't need to be in a managerial position.

You only need to be a functional manager that might not even have a team underneath him.

A good lawyer can make the magic...

So, some more details.

I get 150k gbp in London. The NY company matches it at $260k.
I get a private health insurance from the company in London (paying some extra for dental).

I did claim tax back for 2013 myself, by simply filling out f1040 form. I was a resident, I guess for you, you need a non-resident form. It comes with a good instructions pdf on how to fill it out.

Salary comparison London to New York

I got a job offer from New York company and they are matching my current London salary converted to USD.

Is this a fair comparison or should I ask for more because New York is more expensive city...

Unfortunately I cannot get H1-B now and I actually don't want to go via H1-B path, because my wife wouldn't be able to work in the US.

As I understand the situation, they don't want to put a specific timeline for GC on paper due to J-1 visa. Their's arguing is when I apply for J-1 at the embassy I will have to present a contract and...

They also added a note (in email, not in the offer letter) saying that if things don't work out or if I leave within 2 years, I will have to reimburse the costs of GC, which I'm fine with.
