Re: NEOM COMMUNITY UPDATE

You get split year treatment for tax, but only if you are out for a full tax year. So, if you start in KSA in September 24 and come back in September 2026 you won't pay tax on the foreign income as...

Re: NEOM COMMUNITY UPDATE

Yes, although it's a government thing not specifically NEOM. Half a month for each of the first 5 years then one month for each following year.

Re: UAE salary thread

It's more the ties and timing rather than allowances. You'll need to stay out an entire tax year to benefit from split year treatment = i.e If you leave in March 2024 and go back May 2025 your...

Re: NEOM COMMUNITY UPDATE

Should have read that properly. Current salary plus uplift most likely will be those averages which will include the allowances.

Re: UAE salary thread

I don't think we'd move for that and we don't have kids. Rentals are very toppy at the moment so you would be spending a fair chunk on living costs. Depends on your attitude to it I guess - if you...

Re: NEOM COMMUNITY UPDATE

Big gym in NC1 is very nice. There's a smaller one too. No baseball teams sadly, I do miss a bit of softball.

Re: NEOM Job Offer Details

You'd need to be married to come out as a dependent.

Re: Flights to and from Neom

Not really. There was a Saudia code but not sure it works any more.

Re: NEOM Potential Job

Should be more family accommodation online before then, but there is a waiting list.

Re: UK Citizen moving to the US tax advice

I don't know how the job part of it will work - depends if it counts as UK income, I guess. Rental income is UK income so will be subject to UK taxes though.

Re: Barclays closing expat bank accounts

It's coming to most expats. Some people might get away with it but a lot will see their accounts close. My wife just got a message saying so, although not US. Article on account closures...

No one will be able to say either way. What takes a week for one person can take 3 months for another. Each situation is different, it's only the people involved that can give you any relevant...

Re: NEOM COMMUNITY UPDATE

Depends on how well you performed. It's based on your end of year review. Will be different for everyone.

Re: NEOM COMMUNITY UPDATE

Duba is still a trek. To be honest I've not heard of anyone not being given accommodation at least somewhere. Very few options around that aren't booked up as space is challenging.

Re: NEOM Potential Job
