In my defence its Saudi this time after 5 years in Oman. Going to be quite a bit different but we go where the work is right?! So some basic questions since it's only a few weeks away:
Do you have to have a Saudi bank account or can youjust get paid into Revolut? Working for a non Saudi company in Riyadh.
What are you looking at lease wise for a crappy basic saloon type car?
Is Uber etc good enough/reliable to use instead of buying/leasing a car?
That will do to start, appreciate any answers. probably left this all a bit late! :-)

1. If your employer is a Saudi registered company (regardless of whether its local or foreign owned) I think you will have to get paid into a Saudi Bank account.
2. Invygo type "hassle free, no deposit" subscription service for a Nissa Sunny class car you're probably looking at around 1700-2000 SAR/month. If you buy/lease direct from a bank/dealership it will probably be cheaper, as maintenance/insurance will be on you.
3. I've found Uber to be pretty good. The quality of car and driver is hit and miss, but they always turn up, get you where you want to go and are very cheap compared to the west. At busy times I'd always request a car 5-10mins before you need it.
Good luck with the move!

Check out invygo for some indication on lease prices for a car.probably isn't the cheapest, but acts as a third party platform, and no headaches with maintenance and whatnot.
As far as Uber go, paired with careem you'll generally be well covered. But the tiktok/dvd watching driver with a foot out the window and driving on the hard shoulder gets old quick.

That entirely depends if you are more of an insha'Allah or mashallah type of person upon setting your departure. The driving isn't as bad as I thought, Uber drivers however are all of the fatalist disposition.
