We've been here a 15 months now, we have a 9 yr old son and an 8 yr old daughter and I think the settling largely depends on the child.

As has already been answered you will not get your UK license back. You will be able to swap your Canadian license for a UK one when you get back to the UK. I suggest you take photocopies of your UK...

We have one branch in Red Deer but its right in the downtown so not that convenient compared to the Canadian banks that are everywhere. We have premier accounts which is why we have monthly charges...
