Hi There,
Please excuse my name being in capital letters am not shouting just don't know how to change it !!!
This is only my 2nd Thread my 1st was posted on the wrong page !
However many thanks to old sparkles in Adelaide who pointed me in the right direction.
I am due to start work at the Ironworks in Lethbridge AB.in Jan/Feb all being well.
I have never been to Canada before am very excited but with a little trepidation.
Would welcome any help with regard to finding accommodation and becoming part of the local community. I only need a place for myself so it should give me a bit more scope.
Thanks Pete

I'm not in Alberta but suggest that someone starting work there in January or February would do well to take a woolly hat. And gloves.

Welcome...sounds like you're in for a culture shock as well as a climate shock... Keep an open mind to the possibilities and enjoy the differences...

I know a few peeps in Lethbridge I could put you in touch with if you want the down low - though with yesterdays snowfall there might not be that many glowing praises.

Cant help you with Lethbridge info as we have never been there but we love Alberta even if its a touch chilly at the moment. We tried to use Kijiji from the UK but you cant send messages on it if you don't have a Canadian ip address although it is possible to phone advertisers if they have their phone number visible. Good luck hope you enjoy the move and all Canada has to offer.

Thanks Shunter,
I am really looking forward to the move.
Got a bit of time to get down low on Lethbridge and the ppl there.
Expecting both a culture and climate shock
.However nothing ventured nothing gained.
Cheers Pete

You don't need a Canadian ISP address, just a Canadian email address, I just set up a yahoo.ca address and forwarded all mail to my .co.uk addy. Makes it easier to use the same one for everything.
We are in Prince George which is In bc but cold is pretty much cold anywhere.
I second kijiji, ebay doesn't work here and everything takes two weeks to post.
You will be fine and probably rediscover a love of hot hot soup!
