We used Toll to bring it from Auckland to Whangarei, they collected dockside and drove it straight here, we took our own padlock off on our drive here.

Also my wife made friends easily through our daughter, there are many many things for you to do, there is a gym club from 1year upwards, swimming lessons, playcenters, mainly music's basically...

To be honest i have not read all 6 pages but am going to reply to your original question,

I now earn less in $ than i did in £ but the life is better, we are living on the outskirts of Whangarei...

we had all our stuff in the garage 48 hours after it docked in Auckland, that inculded delivery up here!

Depends what trade you do, typically the USA rate of pay is quite poor compared to a lot of the world ( I have been offered jobs in the us paying less per month than I was getting per week in Europe)...

As said by the others you can get by on english, the area's you spoke of are both majority Flemish speaking who mostly have excellent language skills.

Looks like we will be heading for Perth, although have had offers to move to gladstone, brisbane and sydney too. but the perth deal is a very good one.

We have booked to fly over with singapore airlines in april, i sent there customer services dept an email explaining that we were emigrating and asked for the pricelist etc for excess baggage.
